Birth Certificate in Delhi

This post explains the process of obtaining the Birth Certificate of a newborn child from the MCD office.
Please make sure that you visit the right MCD office based on the place of birth.


Documents to Carry to MCD Office

1. Registration counterfoil provided at the hospital. (Registration No. Like: MCDOLIR - 0110 - 123456))
2. Id Proof of Father/Mother. (Whoever is accompanying)

Note: If Father/Mother is not visiting then provide a duly signed authority letter & id proof to the representative. The birth certificate (without name) will be handed over immediately.

How to get the name of the child added to birth certificate?
You have to visit the MCD office again along with following documents.

1. Hand written application with Mother & Father signature.
2. An affidavit providing the required details.
3. Copy of Birth Certificate (without name) obtained earlier.
4. Self attested Id Proof of Mother & Father.

Note: You will have to return after ~ 21 days to collect the new birth certificate (with name).

Request Birth Certificate Online
You have to make a payment of Rs21 after which the birth certificate will be mailed to you at your address.
You can search for the details using the

3.  DOB + Gender + Father Name + Mother Name

US B1 Visa Process & Travel

You need to follow the below steps for US B1 visa processing.

1. Use this link to submit DS-160
2. Create a login id on the website .You will receive all communication on the same email id which you will provide online. Use only official email id.
3. After log in to the system you will get option in the left hand side called Schedule Appointment. After clicking there you will have to complete your profile.
4. You will also get payment option while completing profile where you can select  your fees payment mode. Options are:-
• NEFT to Bank of America
• IMPS / Mobile Banking (This will not work as Indian banks have a cap of Rs5000)
• Over the counter in cash at Axis Bank or Citibank.
5. Once you receive mail you need to login to your US Traveldocs profile and schedule both appointments as per your choice. Please note that you need to complete your OFC (Biometric) appointment before consular appointment.
6. Once you schedule the appointments you will receive confirmation email. OFC center will take your photo and fingerprints. You will need to carry:-
• Appointment letter
• DS160 confirmation page
• Passport (Validity at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the US)
7. Once you are done with the biometrics at OFC center you will have to go to the US consulate for consular interview on scheduled date. You will need to carry:-
• 2 Photographs (Needed in case OFC center cannot send the digital photos to consulate)
• Appointment letter
• DS160 confirmation page
• Passport (Validity at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the US)
• Supporting Documents

4. What is the purpose of visit?
• Explain in detail.
5. Have you applied for US visa earlier?

Questions to expect at US Immigration

1. Where are you going and how long you will be there?
• I am going to , for days. You should have the return flight tickets.
2. What is the purpose of visit?
• Training / Conference / Business Meetings (Internal or External).
3. Do you have the invitation letter?
• Yes. Carry invitation letter and detailed agenda of the Training / Conference
4. Where will you stay?
• You should have the complete address of the hotel along with booking details.

Other Tips

1. If you are arriving from any airport enabled for US border pre-clearance please ensure that you have atleast 3 hours of halt between your connecting flights.
