Birth Certificate in Delhi



This post explains the process of obtaining the Birth Certificate of a newborn child from the MCD office.
Please make sure that you visit the right MCD office based on the place of birth.


Documents to Carry to MCD Office
  1. Registration counterfoil provided at the hospital. (Registration No. Like: MCDOLIR - 0110 - 123456))
  2. Id Proof of Father/Mother. (Whoever is accompanying)
Note: If Father/Mother is not visiting then provide a duly signed authority letter & id proof to the representative. The birth certificate (without name) will be handed over immediately.

How to get the name of the child added to birth certificate?
You have to visit the MCD office again along with following documents.
  1. Hand written application with Mother & Father signature.
  2. An affidavit providing the required details.
  3. Copy of Birth Certificate (without name) obtained earlier.
  4. Self attested Id Proof of Mother & Father.
Note: You will have to return after ~ 21 days to collect the new birth certificate (with name).

Request Birth Certificate Online
You have to make a payment of Rs21 after which the birth certificate will be mailed to you at your address.
You can search for the details using the
  1. Registration no. 
  2. or
  3.  DOB + Gender + Father Name + Mother Name
