Guide to Thailand

Date: 3/Dec/2015

On Arrival Visa
On arrival visa procedure is simple and quick.
  1. Carry the fees of 1000 THB per person from India itself.
  2. Passport size photo. Any clear photo will work. Size & white background doesn't matter.
  3. This form will be provided at the counter. But you also download it from here.
  4. Tips by Indian embassy in Thailand.
Selecting the Hotel
  1. Choose the one which serves Indian vegetarian food in breakfast.
  2. Check if it is decent enough for a family.
  3. You have to make security deposit at the hotel. About 500 THB per room.
General Guidance
  1. Buy a prepaid SIM Card (TrueMove network) for just 49 BAHT. We bought it at the airport itself.
  2. Its better to exchange USD for THB in Thailand itself as you get better rates than India.
  3. If you wish to go for traditional blind massage then go here: The Sim Sauna Herb Steam 172/6 M.5, Soi Nakula 22 (Soi Ping Pha 22, From main road 400M.), Pattaya Nakula Road, North Pattaya, nakula, Banglamung, Chonburi, Thailand 20150.
  4. For cheap shopping to to Platinum Mall in Bangkok.
  5. Remember to go in floaters/slippers when going to Pattaya as you have to jump in water whill getting down from the speed boat.
  6. Carry cash in BHAT for water sport activities. 1000 THB/person for para sailing.
  7. Our place of stay in Bangkok was Legacy Express, 29 Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok 10110 Thailand. (Don't go for the buffet breakfast. This should reduce the room rate.)
  8. We also enjoyed the mesmerizing Pattaya International Firework Festival on the Beach Front Road celebrated on 27th and 28th Nov 2015. This happens for 2 consecutive days every year. try to plan your trip so that you can witness this grand event.
  9. Places to shop in Bangkok are Prathunam, Indira, Platinum, Chatu Chak and Floating market and of course there are some high end malls.
